[READ MORE] THE EXHIBITION INTRODUCES WORKS MADE IN BRESCIA, ITALY, DURING A RESIDENCY PROGRAM AT PALAZZO MONTI FROM 2017-2018. IT SHOWCASES DIFFERENT MEDIUMS INCLUDING PAINTINGS, SCULPTURE, INSTALLATIONS, FILM AND DRAWINGS ALL DEALING WITH THE THEME OF ‘NEGATIVE CAPABILITY’. A TERM FIRST USED BY THE ROMANTIC POET JOHN KEATS TO DESCRIBE THE PURSUING OF ARTISTIC BEAUTY - EVEN WHEN IT LEADS TO INTELLECTUAL CONFUSION AND UNCERTAINTY. IT IS DESCRIBING THE ABILITY OF AN INDIVIDUAL TO PERCEIVE, THINK AND OPERATE BEYOND A PREDETERMINED CAPACITY OF THE HUMAN BEING; A CRUCIAL POINT IN VANDAL’S WORK.
