SMALL IMPERFECT JAR BY ONOFRIO ACONE (#2)
SMALL IMPERFECT JAR BY ONOFRIO ACONE
Material: Glazed stoneware, natural pigments
Welcome to the extraordinary ‘Small Imperfect Jar’ collection by Onofrio Acone. Each small jar is the result of an ancient and traditional art: the coil technique, also known as ‘colombino.’ Here, every artisanal touch makes each piece a UNIQUE AND IRREPLACEABLE work of art. The Bold series captures the intensity of full colors, the Translucent series offers suggestive transparencies, while the Opal series expresses elegance in matte tones. Every jar is a masterpiece, hand-shaped and glazed with natural pigments, offering a variety of unique colors, shapes, and styles.
About the artist
Born in Salerno on May 26, 1977, Onofrio Acone grew up immersed in creativity, learning the art of ceramics in the small workshop his parents founded in 1982. This early exposure sparked a lifelong passion for the endless possibilities of this versatile material.
Despite expanding the family workshop into a thriving ceramic industry, Onofrio remained dedicated to hands-on craftsmanship, creating unique sculptures, vases, and paintings entirely by hand. Using only simple, traditional techniques, he molds each piece with care, ensuring every creation reflects the emotions and individuality of its maker.
In 2022, Onofrio realized a long-held dream by opening a gallery where each piece is a one-of-a-kind work of art, born from spontaneous inspiration and the transformative power of clay.
